Our Achievers

What was your life before Credence?
Hi! I’m Vincent Oh, and I was from NUS and I was on the International team for volleyball in the SEA games.
Prior to joining Credence, all I thought of my life was work and play, work and play, till after graduation, I joined Credence and met my mentor, Rix Chan. He then challenged me to improve beyond the limitations of my grades.
How is it like working in Credence?
Initially, I faced the stigma of being a consultant, and it was hard at first. Eventually, as I continue to show a sincere heart, and show genuine concern for them and putting their interest above anything else, they begin to open up and things begin to get smoother after that.
For my personal life, I begin to enjoy work life integration, instead of work life balance – because I don’t ever dread going to work
What do you feel that you've gained when working for Credence
After working some time for Credence, I feel that my maturity increased in terms of financial, as well as being more empathetic of other people. I think these are skills that most people in the corporate world would rarely get the chance to gain.
People also started calling me not just for advice on financial matters, but rather on the issues that matter to them, such as wedding plans, honeymoon cost, HDB and so on. These are the scopes that usually consultants are not associated with, but I’m blessed to have the trust of my clients on things that matter to them

How was your life before Credence?
Hi! I’m Lynette and I came from a very humble family in which my dad is the sole breadwinner, and I have younger brother that’s two years younger than me- thus being in the same educational phase as me makes it tough for my dad financially. That stressful period made me understand the need to be thrifty, and how to handle money matters, as well as be more responsible towards my family.
How has Credence change your life?
Before coming in to Credence, everything that I buy I would have to think twice or thrice. Ever since I came into credence, I learnt the importance of money and how to save up well.
Right now, I enjoy financial freedom to the extent if my parents would like to go for a holiday, I could afford to send them for one. And if there are things that I would like to get, I can simply pick and go.
What would you tell someone who's thinking of entering the industry?
This industry is indeed difficult, really not easy at all. But being in here, I can tell you that its all worth it.
So one statement I would like say is this “If you don’t try it today when you’re young, when are you gonna start trying?”

What makes you want to join Credence?
Hi! I’m Jason Thian, an Associate Director with Credence, with Great Eastern FA.
Before I joined Credence, I was doing my Bachelor in Accountancy with NTU. But during my studies in NTU, I’ve actually shortlisted what I want to do, and that’s a career to help others. Even HR Directors came up to me and said “Why not do social work?” when I was considering my job options. But having my own measurement of success, I even went on to sign a contract with the Big Four.
However, when Credence called me for an interview, I went for it, with an open mind – and after hearing them out for a couple of rounds, I realised this is what I really like and I foresee this is what I want to do in the long term.
How has Credence change your life?
Currently, I’m leading a team of 18-20 people and I’m helping people to succeed on their own terms, in spite of their various backgrounds. We do coaching weekly coaching sessions, and even 1 to 1 sessions to make sure that we can customize or tailor training sessions for different individuals.
I’m also working to innovate this industry, to make this industry sexy again. We do not just aim to have clients, but attract clients to us.
What is your greatest achievement in Credence?
We aim to have a 1000 strong manpower in the next five to ten years, and have facilities such as health and fitness, to help our clients in a more holistic manner. So that our client’s life is not just improved financially, but holistically in terms of finance and wealth.
